Packaging Universe
MGU Products came to us with a growing portfolio spanning spices, powders, flours, instant foods and chutneys. Our role was to build a packaging language that could stretch across 65+ SKUs while staying recognisable, relevant and commercially practical.
The portfolio demanded more than visual consistency. Different products had different volumes, market expectations and production requirements. We explored multiple packaging formats and production methods, finding opportunities where design could simultaneously improve shelf presence, flexibility and cost efficiency.
Instead of designing every pack in isolation, we created a flexible visual architecture. Strong brand cues, distinctive product communication, food-led imagery and consistent hierarchy allowed every category to feel individual, yet unmistakably part of the MGU family.
For spices and powders, we turned everyday plastic jars into useful brand assets. The labels were designed to communicate the product strongly while remaining easy to remove, allowing customers to reuse the jars long after the original product was consumed.
For flours, instant products and breakfast-ready mixes, we introduced a more premium boxed expression. Clean layouts, bold product identification and appetising food imagery created a consistent family while giving each product enough personality to stand apart on shelf.
Chutneys were high-volume sellers, making direct cylinder printing on plastic bags a commercially smarter choice. We moved beyond stickers to a more integrated pack—creating stronger consistency, a cleaner finish and a production approach designed around the scale of the product.
For selected flour products, stickers on plastic bags offered a smarter production equation. Packaging could respond to actual market demand instead of requiring large quantities of pre-printed bags—giving MGU greater flexibility while keeping packaging investment under control.
Familiar Market Format
For selected spices, we worked with transparent bags, a format already familiar to the category. The product itself became part of the visual communication, while carefully designed stickers delivered brand identity, product information and shelf recognition without unnecessary production complexity.
or selected spices, boxes created an opportunity to elevate perceived value. Strong food imagery, structured information and the established MGU visual language transformed familiar everyday products into a more premium shelf proposition—without losing their connection to the larger brand family.
